Middle Fork Wilderness Outfitters is passionate about the Middle Fork of the Salmon and dedicated to making your trip on this very special river the trip of a lifetime. Our outfitter, Erik Snell, took his first trip on the Salmon River as a "swamper" or apprentice guide when he was 9 years old. He spent many years learning the ropes, became a guide and then fully realized his dream by becoming an outfitter on the Middle Fork.

Our crew is made up of exceptional guides from various backgrounds who have one overwhelming thing in common-a love for the Middle Fork and sharing their passion for it with the people who come to experience the river. Our guides are not only expert outdoorspeople, but they are fun individuals who will share their extensive knowledge of the river and its history, set up a comfortable camp, cook a 5 star dinner in the wilderness and have a genuinely good time with our guests while they are doing it.

We are dedicated to safety while on the river and all of our guides are extensively trained in river safety procedures, first aid and CPR.

Our Office Manager, Liz Hilton, is an Idaho native and grew up camping along the Salmon River. She spent many years working in Stanley, Idaho eventually becoming a guide on "The River of No Return". She now has two children, ages six and four, who love the Idaho outdoors as well!
