Middle Fork Fly Fishing

Hey folks, we have a new trip scheduled for this year! We are offering a 4 or 5 day Upper Middle Fork fly fishing trip for our September 24th launch date. Personally, I think that September is one of the most beautiful months on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River, here in Idaho.  The summer crowds have headed home, the colors of fall are starting to make a showy display, and the chill of autumn may make a visit in the early hours of the morning.  The high water of summer has mellowed out a bit and the river beckons…It’s the perfect time to come fish the finest trout water the Middle Fork has to offer, from Boundary Creek to Thomas Creek. You’ll be riding comfortably in one of our light and maneuverable fishing rafts, with a maximum of two fishermen and one guide to each raft. As on every trip, your expert fishing guides will attend to every detail, from providing exceptional beta on where to fish and which flies are tempting those Westslope cutthroat, rainbow, and Dolly Varden trout to creating the perfect campsite at the end of the day. The crystal clear waters of the Upper Middle Fork should provide spectacular fishing this year with the record snowpack creating a perfect environment for numerous hatches.  Those of you who know me, know that I can spout a fish story as well as anyone, but seriously, it is not unusual to have 100 fish days on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River.  So clear up your schedule and join MFWO for the best fishing in Idaho – Middle Fork fly fishing! This trip also requires a back country flight out of the heart of the Frank Church Wilderness with the experienced pilots from Gem Air.
